After the molten metal becomes solidified and the piece cools down, the sand rammers may be used to break the mold apart and get rid of the compacted sand. This can be done manually or through conveyor belts and stationary machinery using multiple sand rammers in the same area at the same time.
A pneumatic sand rammer relies basically on pistons to produce power. The length of the cylinder will determine the stroke and thus the power of the impact and therefore of the tool. Valves are the primary parts that make the air travel adequacy and provide power as the stroke actuates the rubber butt.
