Our non-sparking tools line (TFT Safety Tools) is the most advanced surface preparation and cutting system in the world for us in explosive environments. As our tools are Classified and Certified as COLD WORK TOOLS by DNV, we do not require Hot Work permits, Slowdowns, Shutdowns, Habitats, Fireguards, etc.

Reduce Operating Costs
By using these certified cold work tools, you can avoid all the hassle from a Hot Work Permit or Habitats. The tools can be used in hydrocarbon-rich environments, where gas is present without all the dangers associated with using hot work tools. Our tools are so cool in fact that they can be used directly in contact with the hydrocarbon/gas. While not the economical tool as a standalone item, their ability to be used at all times, allows the Asset Owner to recover the investment many times over in as little as a few minutes of use.
Certified and Classified by DNV as Cold Work Tools
For material removal jobs in Classified Areas, you need tools that are Certified Cold Work, to avoid spending in Hot Work Permits, Habitats and fire watches or worse, shutdowns and delays. Our tools have been used for more than 15 years in the toughest places around the World.
Tungsten Carbide Grinding Tool
The TFT-PNEUMATIC Safety Tools rotating files and discs are made of a proprietary alloy based on tungsten carbide. The hardness in their Patented design is right in between the one of an industrial diamond and the one from a natural diamond. Depending on the job you may select the type to use: surface prep, grinding or cutting.
Safe to Use
Being certified cold work tools means you do not need to cover up adjacent surfaces in the work area because the tools do not produce any hot sparks that can burn through paint coatings. The work area temperature is low heat, averaging 95-105°F when grinding steel, which if you think about it is just above human body temperature. Our tools are also certified for Dust Explosive atmospheres.

Milling Disc for Aluminum and Steel
TFT Milling Discs are designed for welding preparation and cutting/milling through a variety of metals. They increase productivity in manufacturing companies that work with aluminum, stainless steel, Hastelloy alloy or other alloys by providing professional quality beveling for welding preparation, butt weld opening, root development as well as fillet/weld repairs. Some of our customers consider the TFT Milling Discs as a portable CNC machine that is able to work on pieces on-site, that would otherwise be too big or costly to bring onto a conventional CNC.

Milling Discs Features
No explosion hazard from aluminum dust
Chips are produced instead of dust which means a significant contribution to work safety.
No Abrasive residues, no smearing
Especially with aluminum no plastic bonded abrasives may be used as they leave residues in the material that may cause weld defects like porosity or inclusions after rewelding. In using our milling disc weld defects are immediately visible and the smearing caused by grinding is avoided.
No stress in the material through overheating
With milling the workpiece remains cold. Overheating is avoided.
Higher process efficiency
Through higher material removal rate and elimination of frequent tool changes due to an estimated product lifetime of 300 hours in comparison to 30 minutes of a conventional flap disc.*
No sudden or unexpected reaction/kickbacks
Unlike traditional cutting discs, with our milling discs you will notice the kickbacks are drastically reduced and in most cases completely eliminated.
Long expected lifetime of disc
Each disc has a lifetime before resharpening of up to 500 hours and they can be resharpened up to 7 times, giving a total lifetime of 4,000 hours. This means non-stop grinding for 8 hours shifts, 52 weeks a year, for 2 years.
Cost reduction/Savings
Our discs, including the initial cost and 7 resharpenings, allow for cost savings of as little as 39% and as high as 78% when compared to a similar product commonly referred to as “ninja blade.”
TFT-PNEUMATIC does not assume or imply any lifetime guarantees as many factors influence and affect this determination including but not limited to: User proficiency, user vices, air pressure, tool being used as well as material being removed.
