Our story, my story
While TFT-PNEUMATIC was created in 2007, our history with air tools dates much further back. I can remember back in 1987 when my family got into the business. I was about 10 years old. I recall that on my first trip to the office, I asked my father if I could take home one of the ball bearings the tools used. He said “Sure! but, what for?” to which I answered, “They are cool, I just want to play with them”. A few years later I started visiting the warehouse and the repair shop. I loved chatting with the mechanics and everyone there. My father used to take me to the office quite often.
Fast forward to 1996, I was fresh out of highschool and got invited to the manufacturing facility of FUJI AIR TOOLS in Osaka, Japan. One of the world’s premier air tool manufacturers. I spent the summer there working all over the factory. Places such as component manufacturing, assembly, design, quality control, overseas sales, domestic sales, packing/shipping. It included several trips to some local manufacturers such as Mitsubishi and many others. For 9 weeks I got to really feel the culture and the passion my new friends had for tools.
That summer I confirmed I wanted to be a Mechanical Engineer, degree I started studying that same year in August. I graduated in 2000, with a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, and continued working in the family business; air tools have been in my blood for pretty much my entire life. People might say my veins carry air tool oil instead of blood.
In 2007 I founded TFT-PNEUMATIC and decided to call Houston, TX my new home. Our first product line was
FUJI Air Tools. Then in 2009 we introduced our TFT-PNEUMATIC Safety Tools product line, and then in 2016 it would be time for the TFT Milling discs.
During the last few years, we have met many amazing people and participated in many amazing projects, both domestic as well as International, in countries like Canada, Mexico, Japan, Norway, Trinidad & Tobago, Brazil, and Germany. Today we continue to focus in getting people to know who we are and look for ways to enhance and improve their way of manufacturing all sorts of products.
Some of our customers include; British Petroleum, British Gas, Chevron, Shell, Exxon, Anadarko, BHP Billiton, HESS, Occidental Petroleum, SpaceX/NASA, Tesla, Honda, Nissan, Austal, General Dynamics, U.S. Department of Defense, Trinity Industries among many others.
From cars to ships, from trains to submarines, from mines to offshore platforms. Every day is a new adventure and while some days are far more interesting than others, we strive to provide our very best in every single chance we get. Always, with the same passion for service.
