Manufacturing applications involve many different jobs, among them, is assembly, cutting, welding, grinding, painting, drilling and so on.
In this post, we will discuss how a pneumatic impact wrench works and some of the technology used to make this technology easy, efficient and readily available at our fingertips.
A pneumatic impact wrench, much as most air tools require an air motor with parts such as rotor, rotor blades, cylinder, upper and lower plates as well as bearings.
These assembled parts work together to bring life to the tool. By propelling the air with its rotor blades, the motor creates the power that is transmitted through the rotor.
This rotor works in conjunction with the impact mechanism and the cam and hammers to convert the RPMs from the motor mechanism into raw power. The cam and hammers are essential to multiply the torque in this type of tool and thus tighten or loosen bolts and nuts.
Let’s take the case of a FUJI AIR TOOLS impact wrench model FW-420-1, a heavy-duty industrial 1” impact wrench. Designed to be used in industrial applications and with parts and services readily available it will provide years of service.
Bolts and nuts come in a variety of sized. Impact wrenches come in a variety of sizes. Adaptors are used to mate the tool to the exact bolt in the application. The most common size of impact wrench is 3/8”, ½”, ¾” and 1”.
At TFT -PNEUMATIC we specialize in heavy-duty pneumatic tools. And as far as impact wrenches go, we have some of the most robust, long-lasting and powerful ones in the World.
